Central Greece Road Trip: Delphi, Meteora & the Best Stops Along the Way

From the ancient sanctuary of Delphi to the floating monasteries of Meteora, a road trip through Central Greece combines ancient history, mountain scenery, coastal beauty, and authentic Greek culture.

Days 1-2: Delphi

Day 3: Arachova & Galaxidi

Day 4: Scenic Drive to Meteora

Delphi to Meteora is 230 km (3 hours) through stunning mountain scenery. Arrive by early afternoon for sunset at Holy Trinity Monastery.

Day 5: Meteora Monasteries

Visit 3-4 monasteries: Great Meteoron, Varlaam, Holy Trinity (from James Bond!), and Rousanou. Shoulders and knees must be covered.

Day 6: Return to Athens

350 km (4 hours). Optional stops: Thermopylae (Leonidas statue), Hosios Loukas monastery, or lunch in Arachova.
